Why does transcription and translation happen at different times for one gene in Eukaryotes, but can happen at the same time in Prokaryotes?
Prokaryotes do not have a nuclear envelope, so Ribosomes can translate the mRNA as it is made, while mRNA has to finish transcribing in Eukaryotes before it can be transported out of the nucleus to a Ribosome for translation.
