What is the slope of a line that is perpendicular to the line $$4x - 2y = 12$$?
First, convert this equation in to y = mx + b form. The result is: $$ y =2x -6$$. In order to determine the slope of a perpendicular line, remember that the product of two perpendicular slopes is = -1. Using this fact, we can create the equation $$-1 = 2*m2$$. Solving this, we find the slope to be $$m2= -1/2$$

Determine the number of moles of aluminum in $$2.154 * 10^-1$$ kg of Al.
In order to solve this problem, convert $$2.154*10^-1$$ kg to g, which is 215.4 g. Next, use the molar mass of aluminum, which is 26.98g/mol , to convert grams of aluminum to moles. Using dimensional analysis, $$215.4 g * (1 mol / 26.98 g) $$ = 7.984 mol
