What is "herd immunity?"
Herd immunity is a term heard often these days, especially with the COVID-19 crisis. Herd immunity refers to a large part of the population (the herd) being immune to a disease. This is most commonly achieved by use of vaccines. When enough of the herd is immune, it significantly reduces the risk that an individual who is part of the population and not immune becomes sick. In order for herd immunity to work, an overwhelming majority of the population must be immune/ vaccinated in order to protect those who cannot be immune/ vaccinated from said disease.

Should I do the keto diet?
The Keto Diet is proven to be beneficial in individuals with epilepsy- this is the only population that should make use of the keto diet. The keto diet is high in fat, which can increase cholesterol levels and blood pressure. It is limited in carbohydrates, which contrary to belief, do not cause weight gain. The brain needs at least 120 grams of carbohydrates per day just to function normally. The lack of fiber from carbohydrate consumption can also lead to abdominal pain and constipation.
