How do you become a 'better' writer?
My students often ask me this question - 'Ms. Amanda, how can I get better?'. It really depends on what your definition of 'better' is. Do you want to be more creative? More analytical? More descriptive? Have your own voice? Are you creating a blog, writing a college essay or writing a short novel? The list of skills to get 'better' at would be infinite! It's about personal writing style and voice, in all pieces!
Is there only one 'right' way to learn a English as a second language?
From an educational standpoint, there are so many resources available in the 21st century for learning a second language. Whether it's a simple conversation with someone or an app that teaches you via audio/verbal means, there are options available to every learner approach. These choices of course would differ from person-to-person and would vary depending on learning preference, age, ability and commitment to learning and growing.
How is education changing in the 21st century? Which learning skills would you need to help you be successful and motivated?
Education no longer resembles the way that it did a decade ago. As a teacher, I am preparing students for jobs and career paths that are not even existent at this moment in time. Learning is happening beyond the classroom these days and it is evident that a lot of learning is leading towards a 'skills first' approach. You can memorize formulas, history and spelling - but so can a computer. What skills will you have to offer with the changing of time?
