Question:

What poets or authors have contributed to our understanding of queer literature and how?

Answer:

Walt Whitman, one of the most notable American queer poets in history, was extremely explicit in most of his poetry about his desire for men, which unnerved much of the public during his time period. However, whereas male poets like Whitman can easily sever themselves from society with little repercussions, there is still less tolerance toward gay men than lesbian women, as society has deemed affection between women largely normal, if not expected, but gay men often face more bullying and ridicule in the face of homophobia and homophobic people.

Subject: English as a Second Language

Question:

What are the necessary methods of learning English as a second language?

Answer:

To learn fluent English, a student must not only learn grammar and punctuation, but to be immersed in the language itself. To do so, ESL classrooms are generally spaces where students can only speak English and not their native language, which is conducive to the natural process of learning a new language. Speaking and hearing English must also be conducted alongside writing and reading skills in order to generate the best learning results.

Question:

What is the importance of the third person limited perspective in novels?

Answer:

Third person limited is the most suspenseful style of narration, and is often applied to certain genres, like mystery, through its use of revealing clues to the reader as the protagonist finds them. Furthermore, it still provides the insight and motive behind the protagonist’s actions as writing in first person would, thus making third person limited one of the most important aspects of the mystery and detective genres.
