Tutor profile: Jayna L.
Graduate student and educator
I am a second-year graduate student in the Community Development Graduate Group (CDGG) at the University of California, Davis. I enjoy working with students and providing support to learning goals and exercises. Education is a significant value of mine and I believe every student is deserving of meaningful academic support. My GPA is a 3.8 and my research interests include environmental science, justice, and community engagement with the Native CHamoru community in the Marianas islands. I enjoy science, writing, and history!
I have experience as a Teaching Assistant (TA) this past school year as a graduate student. I worked as a TA for Environmental Policy Development and Implementation. Additionally, I have worked as an academic tutor during my time at community college (2014-2017) and at UC Riverside (2017-2019). I utilized Knowledge Roundtable, a online and accessible platform to negotiate and communicate with current and potential tutoring clients. I have tutored students from grades K-12, as well as helped students prepare to receive their General Education...
