I am an 8th grade history teacher in the Phoenix metro area. I recently graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in political science, and my secondary teaching license. I have been working with students in a variety of classroom and outside experiences for many years.
I have a secondary history/government teaching license in IA and AZ. As an education student, I completed two practicum experiences, as well as my student teaching experience. In addition to my formal classroom experiences, I also worked as a volunteer and camp staff member for many years.

As the intern for this summer program offering day and residential classes, I had a variety of duties. I was responsible for preparing paperwork, contacting parents of students, and working with instructors to make sure everything was ready to go when the program began. When the program was taking place, I was responsible for working with students, instructors, and other staff. I also supported staff memebers with instruction and classroom management.

I tutored a variety of humanities and social science classes, including American history, introduction to psychology, and political theory. I prepared lessons for two one-hour sessions each week with one to four students. I helped students review course material and prepare for exams.
