Question:

How can someone edit their own work before passing it off to a tutor?

Sabrina F.
Answer:

One can read their work out loud to themselves, pausing when there is a comma or period in place: a shorter pause when there is a comma and a long pause when there is a period. They can also mark places where they have questions they would like tutors to answer.

Question:

What is your favorite author/playwright and why?

Sabrina F.
Answer:

Growing up, I read books such as the Harry Potter series and grew to enjoy reading Sarah Dessen novels. I really enjoy Shakespeare's work and plan to focus on English literature later in my education. I really enjoy Shakespeare's work because the themes present throughout his work can be applied to situations modern-day people go through as well as the older generations.

Question:

What does a basic five paragraph essay entail?

Sabrina F.
Answer:

A five paragraph essay involves an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The introduction introduces the topic of the paper and includes a hook into the essay, background information about the topic and a thesis that introduces what will be mentioned throughout the essay. The three body paragraphs talk about what is mentioned in the thesis and the conclusion summarizes everything previously mentioned, including a reason why the reader should care about the topic.
