About Gretchen
My passion is to spark excitement and confidence in students as they learn and grow. I love finding creative ways to engage students so they connect with what they are learning and find applications of that learning around them.
Teaching Experience
Predominately as a middle school teacher, I developed and conducted lessons featuring hands-on learning experiences and problem-based lessons. I taught eighth grade PreAlgebra and Algebra in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Before working in Chapel Hill, I taught seventh grade Language Arts and Math in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I also taught all subjects as a fourth grade teacher in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Altogether, I have taught for nine years in the public school system.
