Summer Science Research Program in the Bronx NY, Research assistant
2012 - 2014
Analyzed the impact of environmental contamination of organisms (S. alterniflora and G. demissa mollusk) native to the Bronx River. Studied a possible endosymbiotic relationship between organisms native to the river, in which the marsh grass may have served to filter metal contaminants for the mollusks. Research helped to initiate a restoration project of the Bronx River due to high contamination levels and dangerously low dissolved oxygen levels.
